Meriç Albay

Prof. Meriç Albay is the head of Department of Freshwater Resources Management in Istanbul University. His research mainly focuses on water quality problems, the impact of climate change on water resources, algal biofuel, cyanotoxins and micro-pollutants. He is an expert on water resources management practices.

Reyhan Akçaalan

Prof. Reyhan Akçaalan is the head of Department of Marine and Freshwater Resources Management. Her research area is related to cyanobacterial metabolites, including cyanotoxins, Geosmin/2-MIB, and micropollutants, determination of those metabolites using analytical and molecular tools.

Dilek Özyurt

Assoc. Prof. Dilek Özyurt is a research fellow in FreshRes Lab with a Ph.D. in chemistry. Her research focuses on nanoparticle synthesis, water treatment using nanoparticles with advanced oxidation processes, determination of antioxidant capacity of various aquatic biomass.

Ayça Oğuz Çam

Res. Assist. Ayça Oğuz Çam is a junior scientist in FreshRes Lab. She is specilized on the identification of microalgae and currently working on biodiesel production from microalgae and evaluation of fatty acid compositions by GC-FID.

Gözde Özbayram

Assoc. Prof. Gözde Özbayram is a research fellow in the FreshRes Lab with a Ph.D. in environmental biotechnology. Her current research topics include molecular microbial ecology, assessment of the microbial community dynamics in natural environments and engineering systems by molecular biological techniques, development of specific microbial communities for bioaugmentation strategies, and valorization of waste streams within a bioeconomy approach.
